Students Dance with the Dinosaurs

6th June 2022

On Saturday, May 28th, the MCRs of Blackfriars Hall, Regent’s Park College and the Common Room of St Stephen’s House hosted the first-ever Permanent Private Hall (PPH) Ball.

The ball, entitled “Night at the Museum” was held at the Oxford Museum of Natural History. Over 300 students and their guests attended for a night of dancing, museum exhibits and live acts, including Oxford String Ensemble, Sisters of Funk and Equinox Dance Crew.

Five students from Blackfriars Hall were on the committee planning the event: Clare Whitton, Keeley Harris, Clara Hillis, Sam Danello and James Brown. Blackfriars Bursar, Anneli Chambliss Howes, was also a part of the planning process and assisted during the ball. The event was not only a successful Oxford ball, but a rare opportunity for PPH students to meet one another and enjoy a night of fun as a community. The committee is hopeful that future PPH students will band together to plan balls like this one!
