Each year we welcome a small number of academics from other institutions who wish to undertake research in Oxford as Visiting Scholars.

In this year we welcome:
Dr Jude Chua Soo Meng
Dr Jude Chua Soo Meng is Assistant Professor of Policy and Leadership Studies at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and winner of the 2002 Novak award. He will be returning to Blackfriars as a Visiting Research Scholar in Trinity term 2009 when he will be collaborating with the Las Casas Institute.
Prof Joost Baneke

Prof Joost Baneke, from the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences at the University of Twente in the Netherlands, a psychologist and psychoanalyst, will be resident in Oxford from December 2008 until May 2009. He will be undertaking research on the emotions, morality, and monasticism, and will be offering lectures at Blackfriars in Trinity term. Prof Baneke's book on shame, Waarom vrouwen zich meer schamen da mannen appears in November.
Dr Craig Titus

Dr Titus is Research Professor at the Institute for the Psychological Sciences at Arlington, Virginia, and was formerly lecturer and researcher at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. He will be resident at Blackfriars during Trinity term 2009 when he will be undertaking research into the virtues and formation of character.
Dr Stephanie Hayes-Healey
Dr Stephanie Hayes-Healey is a Visiting Research Scholar at Blackfriars during Trinity Term before she moves to the Pontifical Institute for Medieval Studies at Toronto where she will be a Mellon Fellow. Dr Hayes-Healey is a Church historian who specializes in early and medieval monasticism.
Dr Alex Eodice

Dr. Alex Eodice is Professor of Philosophy at Iona College, where he served as Dean of the School of Arts and Science from 2001-2008. While at Blackfriars, Dr. Eodice will conduct research on aspects of conservative thought and philosophy of law. His interests also include the philosophy of Wittgenstein, epistemology, and the philosophy of education. Dr. Eodice will be resident in Oxford during a portion of the Hilary term, 2009.
Bishop Anthony Fisher OP
Bishop Anthony Fisher OP, auxiliary bishop of Sydney and an
Honorary Fellow of the Hall, will be resident at Blackfriars for
most of Michaelmas term 2008 when he will be researching topics in
moral theology and bioethics.
