Intellectual Formation for Christians at University
The Thomistic Institute exists to promote Catholic truth in our contemporary world by strengthening the intellectual formation of Christians at universities, in the Church, and in the wider public square. The thought of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Universal Doctor of the Church, is our touchstone. This is achieved by means of public lectures on themes of great contemporary relevance. Events are free and open to the public.
Begun in the USA, the Oxford Chapter of the Thomistic Institute was established in December 2017 as a partnership between the Dominican friars of the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C. and the English Province of the Order of Preachers.
Past themes have included:
- The ‘atheism’ of Christianity
- The Soul After Neuroscience
- Suffering and Flourishing
