Barbara joined Blackfriars in 2011, after some years spent teaching adult literacy. She read English Language and Literature as an undergraduate, and later took an MA in English, gaining a Distinction for her dissertation on the novels of St Hilda’s College alumna Barbara Pym. She is now embarking on a study of the Orcadian poet Edwin Muir.
