Blackfriars’ 800th Birthday

On 15th August, we will be celebrating exactly 800 years since the foundation of the first Oxford priory in 1221, and 100 years since the foundation of the current priory!
As a central focus for the various events happening around our Province to celebrate this Jubilee Year (running till summer 2022), we have set up a special website, www.dominicanjubilee.com.
Pilgrimage Walk to Oxford
Starting from Ramsgate in Kent on 1st August 2021, Brs Bede and John from our priory will be joining former residents Frs Samuel Burke and Toby Lees, to walk in the footsteps of those first friars in 1221.
