Thomistic Evolution

A team of Dominican scholars in the USA has established the Thomistic Evolution Project: https://www.thomisticevolution.org/.

The Theory of Evolution raises important questions about the relationship between religion and science.

The Aquinas Institute shares the conviction of the members of the Project that Aquinas’ account of human nature can be brought into fruitful conversation with recent advances in the understanding of the mechanisms of evolution and with recent discoveries about human biological origins. Hence the Institute and the Project have been planning future collaboration.

Meanwhile the Director of the Institute will be resident at the Angelicum during Michaelmas Term 2018 to work on a book on Original Sin and Human Dignity, incorporating some earlier research, and touching on some of the relevant issues.
