Blackfriars Research fellow receives honour.
With great sadness we must report that Blackfriars Fellow Professor David Robertson has died.
David was a gifted academic and first took up a Fellowship at St Hugh’s in 1979, and in addition later became Director of Studies for PPE at Blackfriars Hall.
He wrote many books over the course of his career including the Penguin Dictionary of Politics, Judicial Discretion in the House of Lords, and The Judge as Political Theorist: Contemporary Constitutional Review.
Prior to his time at Oxford he was involved with the renowned British Election Study at the University of Essex. During his ten years in Essex he produced two monographs and co-edited a major study on ideological competition between parties in fourteen countries.
He continued writing well into his retirement.
He passed away in the early hours on Thursday 10th August 2017.
