During the Sacred Paschal Triduum, the community observes the traditional office of Tenebrae (Matins and Lauds). This would have been celebrated at night, beginning in time for it to be dark by the end of the office (hence tenebrae, meaning ‘shadows’ in Latin). We sing the psalms, hear readings from the Scriptures and the Fathers of the Church.
