Blackfriars Fundraising Reaches £1/4 million

3rd March 2020

A significant legacy, a grant from a local trust, and very generous individual giving have allowed Blackfriars to make good progress in the first three months of its fundraising campaign.

The campaign, which is seeking funds to invest in the future of Blackfriars, is off to a healthy start according to Development Director, Richard Brown:

“I never cease to be amazed by the considerable good will and generosity that people have towards Blackfriars, and by their desire to see us flourish. This is positive news for the future of Blackfriars.

“We were especially delighted by one generous pledge of £25,000 per annum for this and future years to support clergy training in Blackfriars Studium, and by a six-figure legacy, part of which has been assigned to maintaining our historic built heritage in the priory.

“The Dominicans’ own £1.5m investment, out of their reserves, in Blackfriars’ new Annexe Building has met with a very positive response from supporters, and attracted some generous contributions including a five-figure sum from a prominent local grant-maker.”

The campaign still has some way to go to meet its goals (a minimum of £1.4m needs to be raised), so any help you can offer would be most welcome.
