Lent at Blackfriars

Lent is the time of the Christian year when we seek to turn our lives back to God. For forty days we follow Jesus ‘into the desert’ and seek to walk more closely with him through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
Lent culminates with Holy Week and Easter, when we commemorate Jesus’ suffering and death and joyfully celebrate his resurrection.
