Revised Church Opening Times

25th October 2021

As we move further out of lockdown, the community are gradually opening the priory church for public worship.

Since we moved out of lockdown earlier in the summer, the community have been working on plans to gradually open up the priory and church to the public. This has been done slowly to ensure that we have not had to reverse decisions as directions have been given by the government.

The priory church is now open Monday – Saturday for private prayer. The church will open just before Lauds and close after Vespers. This means that the Conventual Mass (7.30am) is open to the public as well as the evening Mass. Members of the public are welcome to join us for our communal prayer and for Mass.

Monday – Friday: 7.05am Lauds, 7.30am Conventual Mass, 1.05pm Office of Readings and Midday Prayer, 6pm Mass, 6.45pm, Vespers.

Saturday: 8.05am Lauds, 8.30am Conventual Mass, 6pm Vigil Mass of Sunday, 6.45pm, Vespers.

From Sunday 14 November the times of Sunday Masses will change at Blackfriars. The 8am Mass will become the Conventual Mass, and it will continue to be livestreamed. This will be followed by Lauds at 9am. The 9.30am Family Mass will begin again. Vespers will be at 5.30pm followed by the evening Low Mass at 6pm.
