Associate Members Programme
Inspired by the collaboration between Bartolomé de Las Casas, friars in different parts of the New World, and the great Dominican thinkers at the University of Salamanca – Vitoria, De Soto, Mercado, and others – the Dominican Order is committed to furthering the mutual support of academics in Theology, Philosophy and the Social Sciences, on the one hand, and practitioners, on the other hand, who are working on the ground to apply Catholic Social Teaching in situations of injustice.
The Institute is committed to this ‘Salamanca Process’ both through its affiliation with the Centre for Catholic Social Thought and Practice (CCSTP), but also through its own distinctive Associate Membership Programme.
In 2019 the Institute will be inviting a small number of individuals to become Associate Members. As such they will have access to a web-pages where they can post material for comment and discussion amongst the membership, or invite wider public discussion. They will also be invited to take part in an annual retreat where we can support each other through prayer, discussion, and relaxation in good company.
