Keys and Security
If you live at 16 or 17 St John Street, you will be issued a room key and an electronic fob to access your residence. Your fob will also grant you access to our other Hall facilities. Please note that when you wish to access the priory, you will need to input your Pin number FIRST every time, followed by holding up your fob to the key pad. Otherwise, you only need to hold your fob to the electronic lock. If you live in 33 St Giles’, you will also use your electronic fob as a room key.
If you have lost your Pin, fob, or room key, please email us at the Bursary Team. You must contact us by midday the following day to confirm the loss and any potential risk the property may be exposed to. You may be charged the cost of the replacement keys and/or locks. You will be charged at a cost of £25 per key. Out of working hours, the Junior Dean (Facilities) holds emergency keys and back-up fob to all of the accommodation properties.
It is not possible to issue multiple sets of keys for your accommodation. Please do not try to obtain copies from sources other than Blackfriars. In the event that you are found to have illicit copies of keys to your room, you may be required to pay the costs for re-securing the areas affected by such copies.
